life lately

life lately according to chad and i's iphone/instagram feeds. just a warning, it has been a pretty slow week. :)

1-3// we went up to the cabin this weekend with a group of our friends. it was so nice to get away, be with friends and have a good time.didn't get a whole lot of shots of the group, because we were not really engaging in technology while we were up there. its nice to get away.

4// my lunch break needs, boots pelligreno, and snacks 5// what my mornings look like 6// the best road trip snack

other things going on lately...

my sisters are home my sisters are home. (remember how my dad and sister were biking across the usa, you know 3,400 miles, they finished! and my other sister was just on vaca) let me tell you, i am at so much more peace. my sisters truly do complete me and i feel so weird when they are not around. we are planning on having lots of sister time over the next few weeks before laurel goes back to school in colorado

also, while we were up at the cabin i caused a little accident where i had the four wheeler flip over ontop of my friend kelly and i. luckily we just got a little banged up but nothing serious happened. however this did cause some swelling/bruising, especially on my calf. so i have been limping around town. hopefully it will heal up soon!

friendly weekend

this weekend can be summarized by three words.

friends.

sunshine.

ice cream.

put the three together and you have a really good time! as do most people, my energy level sky rockets in the summer meaning i feel like i can do more things, go out more, and see more people! (thank you vitamin d :) )

** my lovely CODA friends michelle and rachel, we have known eachother since we have been little babies! it has been SO fun to see how we have all grown into the ladies we are today!**

** roof top happy hour with kell bell! that was the perfect way to get the weekend started! we love you sunny minneapolis!**

walks + boats

this weekend i...

... got to go on a few walks. lately i can't get enough of them. i went over to my parents and walked their/my little pups for a little. since my dad and sister have left to do their bike tour across the country, my mom is in need for a little help (she takes care of my grandma who has alzheimer's and works 60+ hours a week, a little crazy). so i thought i could go over there and at least help walk the dogs and chat with gram.

then chad and i decided to take a stroll around in our neighborhood. we don't love suburb life but, it can be nice to find some pretty paths to walk along side with. 

** we love our old people shoes, my shoes are originally my grandmas, no joke**

the sun finally came out for a little bit, and the sky was so beautiful! no only if it would stick around for a longer... 

 ... we also got to go hang out with some friends and played kube. i had never played before, and i can't say i was so good. we decided to play boys vs. girls... lets say the boys dominated the field. 

... we then ended the weekend with a nice little boat ride out on the lake! and got to release some "chinese fire laters" or whatever you may call them.. that was what we were going with ;) it was the perfect night!

ps. i am still not over the maxi skirts. love them way too much.

biking lately

my life lately via chad and i's iphone/instagram feed 

 chad and i have started do go on our bike rides once again! but the weather is cheating us. on saturday we started off our ride.. and two minutes into it, it starts to rain. boo. we still haven't make it to the minneapolis lakes yet... but i hope to this weekend. it's weird because usually chad and i have been biking for months once june hits... but with this crazy season we have had, there has not been a lot of biking, just around our local neighborhood. but soon we get to do more fun biking adventures !

on monday i had to say goodbye to my sister and dad as they are biking across the country this summer! they begin in seattle and in eight weeks they will end their journey in new york city. they are doing this with venture expeditions, a local christian non-profit to raise money and awareness for the burma people in thailand. i will miss them like crazy but am extremely proud of my dad and sister as they do this trip of a lifetime. 

the weather is very seattle-y here. clouds, fog, rain. though i am a bigger fan of the sunshine, it does make for some nice photos.

so lately. my life is a lot of bikes i guess? chad and i biking, my sister and dad biking across the country. surreal!

ice cream sleep talking

dear chad we had the funniest conversation while you slept talked for fifteen minutes last night. i got home and you had fallen asleep, i thought i was being nice and cute and brought you some ice cream, however you didn't want it (well you thought you told me you didn't want it while you were sleeping) and started talking about how you really wanted to buy a car. after talking for fifteen minutes you finally woke up. and you were so bummed i ate your cream cone, snooze you loose ;) dear sun please stay a while! minnesota misses you. and i still haven't been done to the lakes to do some biking since you aren't around. so do us a favor, and come this weekend! dear summer hair i'm not sure what to do with you. you don't curl quite like you used to... and you don't keep straight either. what is a girl suppose to do?! dear anthro can't wait to stop by this weekend. i have some birthday money and this girl is in need for some new summer pieces!

i really hope summer decides to stay around this weekend. i am dying to just do everything outside. cook outside. play outside. hang out outside. anything outdoors! so pray that it doesn't rain. ;)

birthday lately's

it has been such a good week. the weather has been a little gloomy and rainy. but some weeks i really enjoy that. it means extra days that i get to wear my hunters ;)

and this week has been *extra* great because it is birthday week! i am feeling even more loved by family and friends who all have blessed me so much, with calls, texts, and shout outs on social media, i am thankful for all of you! in person friends or blogging friends, you all have attributed to my happiness on this day! 

with that, here is what has been going on lately via chad and my iphones! 

 **flash back to my second birthday, barney style, please tell me my looks have improved since then ;) also barney looks a little discolored here... 

chad made me breakfast this morning (and got me flowers) (i was in a rush and just snapped this photo realizing that i cut out both the breakfast and the flowers... oops!) what a great man, and then my sisters came over and brought me coffee (and were also my nice alarm clock, they called me at 6:45am, singing happy birthday, what better way to wake up?!)

what a great start to my morning, and to top it off, it's not gloomy today! **

 ** little baby and nanny adventure to the MIA yesterday, she was being so cute. we went to the MIA a few months ago, and she loved it then, but it is fun to see what things capture her attention now that she is 11 months vs. 9 months, way too entertaining!**

**got coffee with one of my best friend katie young, so blessed to have her in my life. i brought her to one of my favorite coffee shops in the cities (yes people, i know i may have a slight coffee shop problem) , spyhouse. it was a rainy day so the coffee was extra delicious. but apparently everyone had the same great idea to go get coffee because there was no where to sit! **

see how great birthday week has been so far? thanks again for everyone who has made it special! tonight (today is my actual birthday) chad is taking me out to dinner. hopefully it stays sunny out so we can go a little walk around minneapolis before our dinner starts. and of course he told me we could go get desert. best husband ever ;)

life lately. well the sprummery weather has continued in minnesota, so i am just going to call it the year that it became insta-summer. no spring, just summer. but i can't complain! it also feels like summer because our first wedding of the year (aside from our own) is this weekend for my good friend katie rose. and to top of the summery feelings, we went to our first baseball game of the year. life is good. summer is great. :)

trips to the bakery

dear sunny skies. i am loving you. finally i get to feel like it is spring, no more crummy/weird spring. hooray! dear my dream life in france boy do i wish i lived in europe. i have a huge heart for europe, all of their local shops and bakeries, living there would be such a pleasure. however i do have to be thankful for all of the lovely bakeries in the minneapolis area, they make up for it with their delicious bread. and make me feel like i am in france. this may or may not be the reason why i go often ;) dear katie i am excited to be hosted your bachelorette party at my house today. hope you are excited for the fun theme i have in store! dear books why oh why do i love you so. i just finished some excellent foodie books and ordered a couple more off amazon, my life with chickens and summer at tiffany's (thanks ally for the recommendation!) dear birthday wow you are sneaking up... only two weeks.

1// chicken salad sandwiches are always tasty on a sprummery day. 

2// especially if followed by a chocolate chunk cookie with sea salt. yum!

 3// iced lattes on the deck, back when we had nice weather a few days ago. and we got to wear shorts! 

 4// husband and i loving the warm, spring weather, that has now disappeared. we had a little snow last night. yes in may, it snowed. this abnormal spring is driving me crazy! all i want is sunshine and to see the flowers blooming, and at this rate i will never be able to start my little garden. spring please come soon! 

5// banana & nutella crepe ( my two favorite things in one combination. what is not to love!?) went out with my favorite two friends from college, casey and megan, to celebrate them graduating.

life lately.

1// chad and i at hotel minneapolis

2// my slippers and i... minnesota still hasn't hit warm temps. meaning everynight i have to come home and put on my slippers still. but good news, the temps are slowly rising! now if only i can start riding my bike around the lakes i will be a very happy girl!

3// my new job with the little baby girl is still going GREAT. it is so refreshing to have a little person in your life. i love brining her around to all of the parks and kid activities. 

4// i recently found this gelato place at the mall. and it is so tasty . i think it may be my new favorite. sometimes i forget about gelato, but then i remember how good it is, and then i constantly think about getting gelato. does anyone else have this problem?
