fit chic
3.03.2013
well friends. it is that day where im doing a fit report.
this week was an awesome week for working out. the weather is BEAUTIFUL so i have been running outside, and my energy is back. i haven't felt really motivated to work out recently but with the change of the new weather, i remember the real thing, i LOVE running.
so with that the fit report:
monday: stair stepper, lift at the gym
wednesday: 3.5 mile run
saturday: 5.5 mile run
and i am trying something new!
i am partnering up with revolt fitness for a six week challenge! revolt fitness is an exercise/eating program that allows you to do all of the work from your home. the program is designed for individuals who are needing that extra bit of confidence to get a jump start in reaching their fitness goals. with the partnership i am going to be posting weekly of my process, an explanation of some of the exercises we did, and sharing some of my favorite meals. i am hoping to work and evaluate how the program works for busy individuals. so, if you are interested go check out revolt fitness, lets do this six week challenge together.
how was your fitness this week? did you get in any runs?

fitday sunday
2.10.2013
so i kinda stopped doing the weekly fit reports. i don't know if people really enjoyed those or not, so i kinda stopped doing them. but as i was sitting here doing some reading and catching up on life i decided i wanted to do one, just to kinda get things together, and maybe get someone else excited about their fit report from the week.
so! this week was the first week back at the gym. and it was awesome. you know some weeks you have those days at the gym where you don't really feel like you even did anything. but this week was so great. i must have really been excited to get back because i just loved it. i didn't go very often, but each time i went i left feeling so so good.
tuesday: 3 mile run
thursday: 3 mile run, 30 minute stair stepper, strength training
saturday: zumba class w/ rosie, 10 minute stair stepper
luckily i have started to shed some of those pounds i gained from the cruise ;) (the cruise had awesome food and unlimited deserts... you all know thats was my weakness!)
my second little fit report was a fit read, french women don't get fat. this is one of my favorite books and truly shaped the way i look at food.
the book basically talks about eating slowly, enjoying your food, and eating non-processed foods. i highly recommend this book if you don't have your own "food philosophy". it really guided me in why i eat the way i do, and the method i go about doing it.
another little fit report i have is i am about to register for my marathon. i just can't get enough power to actually submit it. i don't know why, but i am just all nervous about it and i cannot get the will power to say YES i am going to do this for sure. the website is currently up in my browser. and i am just looking at it. but i will get there, maybe in a day or two ;).
and the final fit report of the week. i am back at making home made yogurt! my favorite, yay!
so tell me, what do we think about these fit reports, do we make a come back?
and how did you stay fit this week?
resolution time
1.03.2013
so some people totally are not into making resolutions. i have to say i was one of those people... until recently when i decided to stop calling them resolutions and making them goals. i make goals in every aspect of my life, i have educational goals, relationship goals, and health goals. and i think these goals help place emphasis on the things that have value in my life. i don't know how they became to dominate my life, but they kinda do in a good way. they motivate me, and i accomplish so much more then i would have thought. sounds silly but this goal setting stuff really works
with that i am continuing to create some more resolutions goal in my life as the new year approaches.
mini goals:
cook more:
with moving home before the wedding, i hardly cook now. i miss it terribly. i am hoping to make lots of healthy meals this year to help the soon to be mr. get some veggies into his diet. i am also going to really try and stay away from all processed foods. specifically anything that has the word cream in it (aside from ice cream... and i really want to start making my own!)

do "family" walks
be a good wife as i enter in my first year of marriage
only buy quality clothing items... stop buying things that are $3 that you wear once!

give more:
find a local charity to support and give back to my community

baking:
this is the year that i conquer one of my baking fears.... making cakes! i hope to make home made cakes for all of my family this year.

bigger goals: (SMART ones)
run a marathon:
after running two half marathons last year.. i think this is the year to do more! i am planning on running my first marathon in october. i hope to start training in march... build up to a half marathon in the spring and continue training for the marathon. i am so excited. i love running.
continue exercising 3/4 x a week:
exercising 3/4 x a week really worked for me this year and i hope that if i keep with it i will keep looking and feeling way better
read the bible daily
resolutions... what do you think about them? do you have any?

end of year review
12.27.2012
until last year when i made "smart" goals (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time bound).
by following the smart format i was actually able to keep my new year resolutions (well most of them)
2012 goals:
be more fit- exercise 3/4 times a week
run a 10k & a half marathon
loose ten pounds
drink more water
read cs lewis/bible
the result:
-be more fit-
i actually did exercise 3-4/week every week of the year expect for maybe two. i finally got the habit of exericing into my life. i feel so much better. it is now something that i look forward to and is a major part of my life. i can't imagine not exercising anymore and i want to encourage everyone that it is do-able! it is all about making it a habit. and once it becomes a habit- it is something you truly enjoy.
-run a 10k & a half marathon-
this is the resolution that truly amazes me. i am a runner. previous to 2012, i had never ran more then three miles. three miles. and that was a long run, but one year later i have not only ran a 10k and a half marathon but i ran two half marathons, and loved it!
once again, making smart specific goals really enables you to accomplish greater things then you could imagine.
-loose ten pounds-
this was more the motivation of why i wanted to work out.... and though i may not have lost ten pounds, i lost eight. and i feel pretty dang good. i hope that i continue with my fit goals and keep on getting healhier and leaner, because i know i am able to. have to say that cupcakes will always be in the diet :)
-drink more water-
my water consumption has majorly increased. i drink at least ten glasses a day. and am always craving it.
-read cs lewis and the bible-
this sadly is the area that i feel like i could have put more effort into. i did read several of cs lewis's books, which are amazing. highly recommend screwtape letters. my devotional life got better, but it still not great. i want to keep working on this and hopefully work to making reading the bible a daily habit.
overall i cannot believe the progress i have made over this last year. i am excited for the future as i continue to set more goals and work my way to a healthier lifestyle.
did you make any resolutions this past year? how did you do?
